Films/Graphic Organizers
I am going to show a film in my class this next week and was trying to figure out how to assure students are paying attention and getting the proper message from the film. I was thinking of requiring them to complete a graphic organizer about the film. What do you think of this strategy? What do you guys do when you show films in your classroom?

If I am using a film (which would typically be under 5 min. long) I will stop the film each time an important point or vocabulary word comes up. If I had a graphic organizer in front of me during a film, it would be filled with doodles, which, is OK if you don't mind it.
ReplyDeleteYou must always try to focus the students fro learning while using a video. An outline, graphic organizer...something will help them stay "with" the video and not zone like in their living room!
